November 14, 2022, 7:00 p.m. - Double Entendre and the Broadway Chamber Players
Double Entendre performed at St. Malachy's, The Actor's Chapel, on Monday, November 14, at 7:00 p.m., presented by Broadway Chamber Players! The program included pieces by Hans Leo Hassler, William Byrd, Dieterich Buxtehude, Gabriel Faure, Percy Grainger, Rich Shemaria, and Stephanie Berg.

October 14, 2022, 7:00 p.m. - Double Entendre at The Church of the Good Shepherd
Double Entendre performed at the Church of the Good Shepherd, sponsored by Inwood Art Works. The program was a double billing with the Bridgeport Jazz Trio, and included pieces by Stephanie Berg, Gabriel Faure, Carlo Gesualdo, Rich Shemaria, and Hector Villa-Lobos.

August 1, 2022, 7:30 p.m. - Double Entendre @ Movie Night
Retro Reeds of Double Entendre opened for Best in Show, presented by Inwood Film Works, on August 1 at 7:30pm at The Hudson, 348 Dyckman Street, Manhattan, 10034.

June 20, 2022, 7:00 p.m. - Double Entendre at Marcus Garvey Park
Retro Reeds of Double Entendre will perform at the Richard Rogers Amphitheater at Marcus Garvey Park on Monday, June 20, at 7:00 p.m., located at 18 Mt. Morris Park W, Manhattan, 10027. Hear music by Koji Kondo, Yasunori Mitsuda, and a world premiere by Stephanie Berg.

Double Entendre performed at the Shuttle Mezzanine on Sunday, June 12, at 3:00 p.m. as part of Music Under New York.

Two Double Entendre Commissions by Caleb Burhans

We Were Tired of Living in a House (2021)

The title comes from a wonderful children's book of the same name by Liesel Moak Skorpen which my mother used to read to me. Being stuck indoors for the past year with my family, we took great refuge in our many dance parties (we even got a mini disco ball). We listened to a lot of Daft Punk, Imogen Heap, Lymbyc Systym, and Sophie, which had a profound impact on our overall mood and outlook. I did my best to create a work which embodied many of my favorite elements of their music as well as making a few musical nods to the oboe quartets of Britten, Bresnick, and Dagmar.

Galveston '89 (2019)

Before my father and my mother's father died, my family used to take trips to Galveston, TX in the summers of the late '80s. I recently came across some old home videos from those trips and was inspired to create a distilled moment in time for my mother, where we were all alive and happy.

In collaboration with Inwood Art Works, Double Entendre and The Phantasy Quartet performed at the Church of the Good Shepherd on Friday, November 12, at 7:00 p.m. Music by Caleb Burhans, Anna Dagmar, Chad Smith, and the Nick Grinder Jazz Quartet! The Church of the Good Shepherd is located at 4967 Broadway at the corner of Isham Street in Inwood.

September 17, 2021, 6:30 p.m. - Oboe and Bassoon Band at the Jackie Robinson Park Bandshell
Double Entendre performed music by Stephanie Berg, Hugo Kauder, J. S. Bach, and more on September 17th at 6:30 p.m. at the Jackie Robinson Park bandshell in Harlem, 148th and Bradhurst.

Double Entendre performed music by Purcell, Bach, Mozart, and Mitsuda on July 13 at 6:30 p.m. at Bennett Park in Washington Heights, 185th and Ft. Washington.

Double Entendre will perform music by Wendy Griffiths and Judith Shatin at Abby London-Crawford Presents on March 23rd at 7:30 p.m. at the Metro Baptist Church, West 40th Street between 9th and 10th Avenues in Hell's Kitchen.

Double Entendre will play music and trivia before a showing of A League of Their Own at the Inwood Film Works Alfresco at Gaelic Field in Inwood Hill Park. Music and trivia begin at approximately 7:00 p.m. and the film begins at sundown, approximately 8:05 p.m. Bring a blanket and enjoy a summer evening outside in the park!

Double Entendre will perform at the Graybar Passage at Grand Central on December 27th at noon.
